Hirushi’s latest work appears in Nature Communications.
In the technique termed pan-mambrane-labeling, Dr. Hirushi Gunasekara has extended fluorescent sample labeling from antibodies to small molecules, and from protein-specific to pan-protein labeling for the mammalian cell membrane. The outcome of such labeling innnovation is unparalled sampling labeling density and ease of multiplexing with primary cells. Combined with DeepSIM volumetric super-resolution imaging, the team has uncovered previously unseen cellular behaviors and membrane structures involved in intercellular communication. The findings are published in Nature Communications.
